Once you have selected an ad format, you will enter the Creative Builder to start laying out your ad and dressing it up for primetime.
The creative editor features two primary sections, with the editor toolbar (on left) and the creative canvas (on right).
Layout Guide
By default, we provide you with a format-specific Layout Guide that superimposes the creative canvas. This is both to show you the key components of the ad format, as well as to help you easily populate the respective display fields. You can toggle this guide on/off at any time with the control at the top of the editor toolbar.
If you already have a graphic background designed ahead of time and would like to implement your own pixel-perfect layout, simply toggle the Layout Guide off and upload your respective image background +/ video clip, crop, and proceed.
Creative format support
Each editor field should have a description below it advising on base specifications recommended for input (eg. minimum / maximum size, duration, etc). Image uploads are croppable within the editor controls.
Generally speaking we support the following formats, via direct upload or asset URL.
Images:
- JPG
- PNG
Video (duration of 10-60 seconds):
- MP4
- MOV
- VAST (direct accounts only)
Background Overlay
If you are using the Layout Guide and controls to design a custom ad in the Creative Builder and input dynamic text, you likely want to enable a color overlay on top of your background image. This will allow copy and logos to stand out and contrast well from the background of your ad.
To add a background overlay:
- On any background image field (desktop, mobile), check the box under Background Overlay
- Click on the color swatch field and select the color you would like the semi-transparent overlay to be
- Set the opacity field to increase or decrease the transparency of the overlay, ideally so the logo, message, and call to action button are easily distinguishable to users
Destination URL
In most cases, you likely want your addressable audiences to have the option to engage your brand further on your own (or affiliated) website by clicking on the call to action areas of the creative. To set this clickthrough URL, find the Destination URL control in the editor toolbar and enter a valid hyperlink.
You may wish to append any URL parameters that help you identify the campaign and/or source of the referral. Concert Ad Manager does not support tracking pixels however.
